Description
The Zenith FD Doorset is a high performance steel doorset, designed for maximum durability and strength.
Fully tested and fire rated to BS476 pt.22 – 1987 up to 240 minutes. Suitable for internal and external use in risk areas such as chemical and electronic industries, as well as airports, railway stations, stadiums etc. Typical uses include stores, fire escape routes and fire separation.
Door Leaf Specification
Door leaf construction from two skins of galvanised steel, 1.2mm thick, to form a 45mm thick panel. Full height lock seams and horizontal channels combined with high density honeycomb core, gives exceptional rigidity and strength.
The vertical edges of the leaf are bevelled, ensuring minimum gaps between door leaf and frame.
On double doorsets a ‘T’ section astragal is fitted to one of the leaves to provide Weather resistance and increased security.
Door frame specification
Door frame constructed from 1.6mm thick galvanised steel, with a double rebate profile. Overall width of the profile is 121mm. Head pieces are connected to the jambs with ‘tab and slot locators, with a vertical butt joint. The jambs are reinforced for all hardware supplied. The hinges are rebated flush into the rebate. The frame is fixed into the surrounding structure using the appropriate fixings supplied. Any tolerance between frame and structures is taken up with the unique threaded adjusters, giving quick and positive means of adjustment.
Options
Hinges – stainless steel and hinge bolt variants.
Mortice locks – available in many variations covering all applications, normally supplied with 5 pin euro profile cylinder. Panic/Exit devices – available in many variations, and conforming to the relevant standards.
Door furniture – aluminium ‘Round bar’ is supplied as standard. Options include – Levers, pull handles, push plates, kick plates etc. Stainless steel is also available when required.
Door closers – available up to size 7 and covering all applications.
Flush bolts – fitted into the leading edge of the inactive leaf, when required on double doorsets.
Thresholds – either a low profile aluminium with integral seal or low profile galvanised steel.
Weather seals – high performance tubular seal, with self adhesive backing. Self extinguishing.
Louvres – constructed from galvanised steel in square or rectangular format, with fireblock intumescent.
Vision panels – available in square, rectangular, and circular format with fire rated glass and gaskets.

Zenith are also able to supply competitively priced steel doors - both Personnel and Fire Exit. Please note that these are finished in grey Polyester paint finish suitable for on site painting BY Others. Sizes available to suit structural opening sizes of: 900 x 2100 and 1000 x 2100mm only. Finish
As standard the doorsets come in a self colour finish. The zinc coated steel provides a spangle free light grey finish.
Options available are:-
Grey primer.
Two pack polyurethane paint (satin finish) in any BS or RAL colour.
Polyester-powder coat for special effects including textured and speckled paints. Available in BS and RAL colours.
If door set is to be painted ‘on site’, we would advise obtaining guidance from the local fire prevention officer, in order to maintain the integrity of the doorset.
Sizes
The Zenith doorset range is available in a very wide range of sizes. Stock doors are available to suit structural opening heights of 2105mm and structural opening widths of 670mm – 1210mm for singles and 1220mm – 2310mm for doubles.
